The U.S. Department of Justice is sponsoring an International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (ICITAP) on "Community Oriented Policing" from November 5-8 in the Legionowo International Police Training Center.  Officers from eighteen voivods of Poland are participating in the current training session, which is being led by Keith Bridges, a DOJ contractor and a former spokesman of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department in Charlotte, NC.  ICITAP works closely with host country law enforcement officials to shape training development programs that are designed to meet the country's specific law enforcement needs.  This is the sixth training series of its kind to take place in Poland since 2004.  The wide range of topics covered have included Code of Ethics and Anti- Police Corruption Strategies, Strategic Planning and Media Communications, and Leadership Management Development Training.  the Polish National Police has participated actively in each of the training programs.
