Export-Import Bank Board Director Linda Mysliwy Conlin [biography] visited Poland December 7-10 to discuss advantageous financing of U.S. technology exports to Poland, including commercial aircraft, elecommunications and energy technology, and equipment for infrastructure development projects, including waste management.
She met with the Minister of Treasury, and vice ministers of Finance, Interior, and Environment.
She also met with LOT Airlines managment, with urban development experts from more than ten Polish cities, and with leading U.S. firms with operations in Poland.
Ms. Conlin formerly served as Asssistant Secretary of Commerce, where she earned respect for her interest in promoting U.S.-Polish commerical ties.
She visited Poland three times in 2002-2003, including during the visit by Commerce Secretary Donald Evans in December 2003.
Ms. Conlin is proud of her Polish roots on both sides of her family.
