U.S. Ambassador to Poland Victor Ashe joined Krakow Consul General Anne Hall on November 6 for a meeting at her residence for the wardens who serve Krakow’s consular district. Ambassador Ashe welcomed the wardens and thanked them for their service. Warsaw Regional Security Officer Chip McElhattan spoke briefly on safety and security. Krakow Consuls Jeanne Gallo and Christian Deitch spoke about services provided to American citizens living in Krakow’s Consular district as well as voting assistance available during election years. There are approximately 4,000 Americans who have registered with the Consulate, and 60 wardens serve as primary points of contact in the event of an emergency or if the Department of State has an important message to disseminate to its citizens abroad.
