In conjunction with his participation on April 25 in the annual “March of the Living” at the former Nazi concentration camp in Auschwitz and Birkenau, on Saturday, April 29, US Ambassador to Poland Victor Ashe met with two American groups who also participated. The Los Angeles “March of the Living” delegation, sponsored by the Bureau of Jewish Education of Greater Los Angeles, included 12 Holocaust survivors and 60 high school students from the Los Angeles, California area. The B’nai B’rith Youth Organization included some 60 students from all over the United States. Ambassador Ashe discussed current issues in Poland, US-Polish relations and the affect of the Holocaust on Poland.
