MRV Fee Information

Payment of Application Fee

  • All applicants, with the exception of those noted in the “Exceptions for Payment of Application Fee” paragraph, are required to pay the Machine Readable Visa (MRV) application fee. The application fee is not a visa issuance fee. Nationals of certain countries will be required to pay a separate issuance fee if they receive visas. Citizens of Poland do not pay any issuance fees.

  • The MRV application fee must be paid in Polish Zloty. As of November 17, 2008, the exchange rate is 3.10 PLN to 1 USD.  The current MRV fee can be found here.

  • Receipts must contain the applicant's name, the bank account number and the words "oplata wizowa." If the MRV fee is paid by a third party, please make sure that the applicant’s name and surname are written on it.

  • Each applicant must provide an individual receipt/proof of payment containing his/her name. This includes members of the same family and business colleagues traveling together. For example, if a mother, father, and two small children apply, we will need four separate receipts – one for each family member. Similarly, if five persons from the same company apply together, we will require 5 individual receipts. Applicants who do not appear with individual receipts will be required to make a payment following our requirements and reschedule their appointments.

  • The receipt(s) are kept for the Embassy’s records and are not returned to the applicants.

  • The MRV application fee is non-refundable. The receipt remains valid for one year after the date of payment. Persons who are refused visas, choose not to apply after paying the fee, make a payment for more then one applicant on one receipt or make a payment not following our regulations will not receive a refund.

  • There are two methods of paying the MRV application fee, which must be paid directly into the Embassy’s account:

Ambasada USA 00-540 Warszawa Al. Ujazdowskie 29/31, Citibank Handlowy w Warszawie SA, account no: 33 10301508 0000000500350016.

    1. Post Office
Applicants are encouraged to pay the application fee at the Polish Post Office (Poczta Polska). The Embassy has an agreement with Poczta Polska whereby applicants do not have to pay any handling fee (oplata manipulacyjna) for this service. Applicants who pay at the Polish Post Office must present the original post office receipt in order to be admitted to the Embassy on the day of their appointment.

    2. Bank Transfer
Applicants may opt to pay via bank transfer, but should be aware that this option is more complicated than the post office option and that they may incur transaction fees of up to 25 zloty. In addition, applicants paying via bank transfer must present the original receipt from the bank confirming the transfer, and that original receipt must bear an original stamp from the bank. This means that applicants who pay via bank transfer will have to go to the bank to obtain an original receipt and stamp. A receipt which normally does not need confirmation by bank stamp according to Polish regulations is not a sufficient proof of payment for the Embassy. An original receipt with an original stamp of the bank would still be a requirement here. Under no circumstances will copies or faxes of receipts be accepted Applicants who fail to present an original Polish Post Office or bank receipt bearing an original stamp will be turned away and required to reschedule their appointments for another date.

We do not accept payments from entities other then Poczta Polska or a bank.
    • Diplomatic passport holders or applicants for “A”, “G” and “NATO” visas

    • J visa applicants sponsored by the U.S. Government who are participating in programs which code begins with G-1, G-2 or G-3, G-7 and their derivatives.

    • Applicants whose original visa was not properly affixed or needs to be reissued through no fault of the applicant.
