U.S. Commerce Department Promotes New Business

17 March 2003

Polish companies in the automotive sector are expected to benefit from an American Trade Mission to Warsaw March 19-20 organized by the Commercial Section of the U.S. Embassy. The six American companies that are part of the mission offer automotive parts and components as well as environmental technologies for the automotive industry (see accompanying list). These companies are interested in developing business relationships in Poland, including finding joint venture partners.

The American companies will have individual meetings with Polish firms interested in cooperation. The meetings are to be held at the Sobieski Hotel.

During the course of the mission, the Embassy's Commercial Counselor will present the U.S. Department of Commerce Certificate of Appreciation to Fenix Auto Parts, a Polish company which imports American automotive parts. The award was created in 2002 to recognize the important contributions of foreign partners to increasing U.S. exports. The award is for "Achievement in Trade with the U.S." and will be presented to the President and owner of Fenix Auto Parts, Jan Raniecki.

Mr. Raniecki’s company has been known on the Polish market as a leading importer of automotive parts for American-made cars. The company has been active for more than ten years and has developed business relationships with 25 U.S. automotive parts producers. Fenix Auto Parts has been cooperating with the Commercial Service of the American Embassy in Poland, participating in many of its services, such as the International Buyers Program, Trade Missions, and Gold Key programs. Fenix Auto Parts was one of the first companies to sign up for the BuyUSA.com program.
