Is an invitation to visit the USA necessary to obtain a tourist visa? I have someone to visit who has a green card and has been in the USA for 10 years. Best wishes and thank you for the advice. |

A: Thanks, that is a great question. In Warsaw many applicants for tourist visas present invitations from friends or relatives, signed by a notary in the USA. These documents are absolutely not necessary and do not help anyone’s case! Consuls make decisions based on the qualifications of the applicant, not on the person they are visiting. In other words, the applicant must show that he/she has strong social, economic, and family ties outside of the United States. |
