There are Federal Benefits Units in Warsaw and Krakow.


  • The Federal Benefits Unit in Warsaw provides services to individuals residing in the following provinces (wojewodztwa) of Poland: kujawsko-pomorskie, lubelskie, lubuskie, łódzkie, mazowieckie, podlaskie, pomorskie, świętokrzyskie, warmińsko-mazurskie, wielkopolskie and zachodniopomorskie. Residents of the Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Slovakia should contact the Warsaw office for assistance with federal benefits issues.

Residents of the Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Slovakia should contact the Warsaw office for assistance with federal benefits issues.

Both Federal Benefits Units operate on an APPOINTMENTS-ONLY system. To schedule an appointment or to obtain information, please call from 3:00 to 4:45 p.m. While calling, you should have your Social Security Claim Number with you.

You are also welcome to write or email us. You must include your Social Security claim number on any correspondence directed to us. It is also advisable to provide a telephone number where you can be contacted during the day.

Services:

The Federal Benefits Unit provides assistance with Social Security, Veterans, Civil Service and Railroad Retirement benefits, including the following:


  • Filing Social Security claims for retirement, auxiliary, survivor’s and disability benefits
  • Beneficiary status changes transactions (i.e. notice of changes of address, non-receipt of payment, etc.)
  • Assistance with a variety of post-entitlement actions including enforcement questionnaires, school certificates, overpayment refunds, continued disability reports, etc.
  • Medicare enrollments and cancellations
  • Appointment of representative payees for incapable beneficiaries
  • Applications for Social Security Numbers and requests for Social Security card replacement

Direct deposit of federal benefits in Poland:

It is now possible to receive Social Security benefits electronically to a bank account in Poland. The four banks to which we can currently transfer benefits are:

Pekao SA
PKO BP
BPH
BGŻ

If you have an individual dollar account in one of the above banks, you may use the following sign up forms to request enrollment:
